Each 100 gm Contains:
Chlortetracycline hydrochloride 20 gm
Properties:
Chlortetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic and one of the tetracycline group. It inhibit protein synthesis of microorganisms by reversibly binding to
30 S ribosomal subunit.
Indications:
For oral treatment of diseases caused by bacteria susceptible to
chlortetracycline.

Calves & Lambs

Bacterial pneumonia e.g. pasteurella spp. Haemophilus spp and klebsiella spp. bacterial enteritis e.g. E.coli and Salmonella spp.

Chickens

C.R.D. and air sac infection (Mycoplasma gallisepticum, E.coli) Infectious synovitis (Mycoplasma synoviae) Fow Icholera in growing chicken (Pasteurella multocida).

Turkeys & Ducks

Blue comb disease and Infectious synovitis.

Contraindications

Not to be used with saline cathertics and gastrointestinal products containing Aluminium, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc cations. Contra-indicated for layers. Contra-indicated for adult ruminants.

Side effects

May cause diarrhea.

Precaution

Notrecommended in renal and hepatic impairment.

Dosage

Poultry & Rabbits: 1 gm/ liter drinking water for 3-5 days (20-50 mg/ kg b.wt.) Turkeys, ducks:10-30 mg/kg b.wt Lambs :25-50 mg/kg b.wt/day for 3-5 days. Calves:10-20 mg/kg b.wt/ day for 3-5 days. Preferable to be given in two equally divided doses at 12 hours interval.

Storage

Store in a cool dry place below 35 C, away from sunlight.

Withdrawal time

Meat 21 days. poultry: 7 days.
