Dosage Form :Injection

Composition:
Each 100 ml Contains:
Lvamisole hydrochloride 7.5 gm
Properties:
Levamisole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic acts cholinergic agonist and
as such, causes paralysis and rapid expulsion of the worms.
It is effective against adult and larval gastrointestinal roundworms and
lungworms.
Also used as immune- stimulant because it activates T lymphocytes.
Indications:
Cattle, sheep & goats:
Treatment of abomasal, small intestine and large intestine nematodes, such as:
Stomach worms: Haemonchus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Ostertagia spp.
Intestinal worms: Trichostongylus spp.. Cooperia spp., Nimatodirus spp..
Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp.. (Chaberrtia-sheep only)
Lung worms: Dictyocaulus spp.

Contraindications

It should be used cautiously in cattle that are stressed due to vaccination, dehorning and castration.

Adverse effects

Transient coughing, hyper- salivation, excitement or trembling may occur in higher doses.

Cattle, sheep & goats:7.5 mg/ kg b.wt. (1 ml/ 10 kg b.wt. given S.C.)

Withdrawal time

Meat 28 days. milk: Not for use in animals producing milk for human consumption.
