Mycinop
Dosage Form : Water soluble powder
Composition :
Each 100gm contains:
Neomycin Sulphate ……………………………………………………………………………70 gm
(Equivalent to Neomycin base 49 gm)
Properties:
Neomycin, the drug’s active substance, is aminoglycoside class antibiotic characterized by bactericidal action against most gram- negative pathogens: E. coli sp., Salmonella sp., Proteus sp., Haemophilus sp., Klebsiella sp. Shigella sp., Pasteurella sp., and gram- positive: Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Corynebacterium sp.
Neomycin is poorly absorbed from digestive tract. It remains fully active in stomach and intestines, despite presence of food, pus, necrotic tissues and changing pH value. Approximately 97% of applied dose is eliminated from organism with faeces matter. Neomycin’s bactericidal action results from bacterial protein synthesis inhibition at ribosomal level. Immunity to neomycin is formed very slowly – in bacterial populations mutants resistant to the drug are rare
Indications:
Broiler Chickens:
Mycinopi : used for treatment of diarrhea associated with salmonellosis that caused by Salmonella spp.
Mycinopi: reduce mortalities associated with Colibacillosis caused by Escherichia coli and the diarrhea caused by any of the susceptible organisms that mentioned above.
